Tentative Schedule:

 

THURSDAY Evening: ….We will meet in Portlandat a location very close to the Portland Airport (PDX) for about an hour to go over the itinerary, meeting times, goals and objectives of the workshop. Handouts, maps and information will be available. 

 

FRIDAY June 6:      All Day in the Columbia River Gorge… Macro & Landscape photography

 

SATURDAY June 7: AM Shooting Location    Afternoon— Image Critique session Evening- Sunset Location

 

SATURDAY PM: meet attendees coming in for the Coast part of the workshop.

 

SUNDAY June 8: Travel from Portland to the Oregon Coast Ecola State Park (about 1 ½ hr drive). Lunch at Cannon Beach …………….. Sunset Cannon Beach Sea stacks

 

We will spend Sunday evening in Newport Oregon.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MONDAY: AM Tide pool Shooting at Seal Rock State Park……….  Afternoon at Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Newport Harbor and surrounding area. We have scheduled this workshop around one of the lowest low tides ( almost a -3′ tide!) of 2009 on the Oregon coast. Nothing is better for tide pool photography.

Workshop ends after sunset Monday PM.

INTRO TO CLOSE-UP/MACRO WORKSHOP
This workshop will explore the equipment needed for macro photography, digital cameras, lenses, tripods, heads and accessories. Also covered will be camera functions, techniques, depth of field, lighting and a powerpointe program on composition. I will shoot a couple of images, show how I process them using photoshop and print them. This is a instructional workshop and you need not bring any equipment to this class. The workshop will run about six hours. Check for dates and costs below.

INTERMEDIATE CLOSE-UP/MACRO WORKSHOP
This workshop is for the photographer who has a digital SLR camera, lenses withmacro capabilities or standard lenses with extension tubes, a good tripod/head and the know how to work all the functions of the camera (change f-stops, exposure, ISO, white balance, etc). Various subjects will be set up and shot, then processed using photoshop. The workshop is held indoors and will run about five and a half hours. Check for dates and costs below.

ADVANCED FIELD WORKSHOPS
In the advanced field workshops all the qualifications are the same as in the intermediate workshops, but it will be held in an outdoor location. We will be shooting natural subjects in the field. Shooting will be the main subject, and no time will be spent after the shoot on processing images. The days, costs, and locations will vary. Check for dates and costs below.

48th Annual Niagara Frontier Regional Camera Club Convention will be at the Holiday Inn, Grand Island, New York. I will be presenting on Friday night along with Jack Graham. On Sturday Jack and I will be setting up subjects for photographers to come and shoot with their macro equipment.
